Portrait sessions will be at the indoor or outdoor Southern Ontario location of your choice and can last up to two hours.   Your portrait session can tend towards the formal or the creative.  If creative is what you want, we can work with whatever clothing, costumes, or props you like.  For a more formal portrait, the following advice may help:

 
• Simple clothing with solid colours usually works best.  Whites and blacks are often lost in photos and are best avoided when possible.
• For family portraits, clothing should be coordinated.  Highly contrasting clothes can make for a very creative photo, but will look awkward in a more formal scene.
• Make-up is recommended to smooth the skin and prevent glare  but should be kept simple unless you are looking for a very dramatic portrait.
• Eyeglasses are one of the photographer’s banes.  For a single person portrait we can usually work with them, and they can in fact enhance the photo, but in group settings it is often impossible to keep distracting reflections out of them.  In these situations if you have the option of wearing contact lenses instead of glasses it is recommended that you do so.
